Brand new dirt cheap Ryzen 7840hs mini PC from AliExpress with 1tb Kingston NV2 SSD and 32gb Crucial 5600 DDR5. Got it for portability purposes lol. First boot gave me trouble but after several restarts I got it on the screen. Then I removed the DisplayPort to move the thing to another room with HDMI. Didn't show up, brought it back to the DisplayPort and nothing either. Ended up reseating the RAM and that did it. So afterwards I updated my graphics drivers but I forgot to do a clean install. I tested it back and forth between rooms and cables several times with no issues.

A couple days after this I moved it again and got another black screen for both DisplayPort and HDMI, now it won't show up again. Reseating the RAM didn't help, cleaned out the slots. I tried both sticks of RAM by themselves. I reset the CMOS. But I never updated the chipset drivers or BIOS or even looked at the BIOS settings. Any ideas? Thanks!

There should be a clear CMOS option or the possibility to remove the CMOS battery for your miniPC. Disconnect from the wall and display, remove the battery for 30mins and then replace it.

If you're having to clear the CMOS and also tamper with the build by reseating the ram, would mean you have a grounding issue in your abode.

Hmm thank you that could make a lot of sense, I'll look around. I did clear the CMOS but no luck

Well it seemed at first like that was the solution because I did find a loose ground wire and after some soldering it booted right up. But curiosity got the best of me and I disconnected the cable again and I'm back to the black screen haha. Tried everything again that I did earlier today. I'm stumped

I should specify I mean I just disconnected the DisplayPort/HDMI after shutdown, which should be something that's possible
