I was doing a normal cleanup routine mainly by going to %temp%, temp, prefetch and cleaning/deleting the files inside them. Normally this wouldn't do anything but i did it 3 times and the third time the icons were going blank and it was quickly resolved by doing a refresh. But then when i rebooted it. I checked my folders to see if the icons were again going blank (*The only icons going blank were the videos/photos/mp3 files on my hdd and on my other folder in my ssd*) Then i went to chrome and searched about how to clear the icon cache i was in a middle of watching a yt video about how to fix icon issue. And then boom the screen shut off, Black screen i tried to turn on my monitor and it wont. It just shut off? like the pc is still running ram is recieving power but the monitor shut off completely. I called in my older cousin and we tried force shutting down and after 3 secs it boots up back up by itself we even tried pressing the reset button and nothing it wont restart. and after attempting this 3-4 times My cousin was fondling with the wires mainly the DP cable he said or the gpu DP cable and it mysteriously had a signal? I checked the icons from the folders containing videos/mp3s/photos and the thumbnails were back. I turned off the pc to make sure it wasnt a boot-loop and it didnt turn back on. It didnt boot-loop from what we can tell or was it?
I also tried to replicate what happened earlier cleaning %temp%, temp, prefetch and disk cleanup the icons never went blank and after the restart i checked the folders and it never went blank none of them did. it ran perfectly normal? i then reset my icon cache and did sfc /scannow and DISM just to be safe again. And also a memory diagnostic test and didnt have any issues too. The issue never persisted but its fair to say i was scarred from experiencing that.
Prior to this all i did was play, edit, and restore to a point and that point barely had a significant changed. Only had one change only that a app wasnt updated from MS Store. And there was also one instance where Disk Cleanup wont run and rebooting the pc fixed it.
I ran chkdsk and it said fixing and repairing drive and it fixed it successfully and i hope that it was only that.
I benchmarked my gpu to see if it was the cause nothing came up.
Thoughts on what could be causing this or my PC/SSD just couldn't handle how much i was cleaning it.
I gamed on it for 1 hour and the said problems didnt arose. I also rebooted it 3-4 times to check if it would happen and it didnt.
