I recently bought a new graphics card, 500w PSU and SSHD and connected them all up about an hour ago and i tried to plug in hdmi and turn the computer on but it just stays at a black screen. I changed out my GGTS 240 graphics card from my Dell XPS 8100 computer. Can anyone tell me any solutions to help fix this black screen?

The computer and everything is going fine as i looked inside and the graphics card fans are going and everything else

I can not explain, except just telling you that XPS 8000 line, up to today XPS 8700 has issues with NVIDIA cards, don't believe me (and you should not), look at this thread created for XPS 8700 compatibility with NVIDIA cards, I know it is not directly applicable to you, but if such thread officially exists at Dell forums there is something wrong with XPS, don't you think so)

its like the PC is running. I plugged in a cable to my motherboard graphics and the pc was running fine but when i plugged any cable to Graphics card it wasnt showing up. I also had it opened and the graphics card fans were going.

One of my friends was upgrading to a 750 ti and also he upgraded his psu as well and turned out that his motherboard did not support it . So make sure your motherboard works with it and make sure your cpu will work for the new motherboard you pick.
