Black screen with cursor and blue bar after Login

Ok so I have Windows 8 on my samsung laptop. Yesterday I was running a boot time scan from Avast. During the scan, one of my friend's cat ran across the keyboard and ended the scan early. The computer booted up normally and let me login. After a long time, a black screen showed up with a blue bar along the bottom. The cursor appeared as well. I can not use task manager, it crashes. I have hooked it up through hdmi port, no results. I can not access ANYTHING. What are my options? Can I fix it?

Must have ben a CAT Scan? (Sorry...) You need either a Windows Repair Disk or an Installation disk. Get a friend who has a W8 PC to create a repair disk or download Installation media from

You'll need your Product Key from the base of your laptop and a DVD or USB drive to create.
If neither is possible you should be able to restore your Laptop to Factory Settings, but you'll probably lose all your personal stuff. (Hit F4 at Power on...)
