Blank DVD not recognized

I'm having a problem with my CD/DVD writer not
acknowledging blank media...it says that there are 0
bytes used, 0 bytes free and I cannot burn. Is this a
DirectX issue? Anyone else having this problem??

Together with your CD/DVD burning program, Nero,Roxio whatever, do you have
a packet writing program such as In CD ?

If you mean something like instant cd/dvd....then yes, I
have it

Did you ever get an answer? I am having the same problem with CD'S and
DVD"S. Iam interested how you resolved this problem.
