I've been getting a specific crash the last 2 days. My game freezes before the screen turns to a pure bright red. There is no text or anything on the page and the sound loops ( freeze ). This crash appears to only occur when I'm playing Evolve Stage 2 Beta.
At first, I thought it was because I was overheating but I turned on HWMonitor and MSI Afterburner to monitor my temperature during the most intensive gameplay and it my gpu only maxed out at 67 and stuck at around a 64 most of the time. My CPU was only about around 55c.
I dusted out my entire computer and all the case fans as well this morning to make sure overheating wasn't an issue.
I have NOT overclocked any components.
I'm running a stock cooler on my CPU and my specs are as follows:
GPU - AMD R9 270x
CPU - AMD FX-6300
MOBO - MS 7693
2x4 RAM dual channel
PSU: Seasonic 520w Bronze certified
I'm running Windows 10 Pro 64-bit and I've had this computer for about 4 years.
When I take a look into the event viewer, I see a event 41 Source: Kernel Power error.
Does this mean the PSU is failing? How would I check that enough power is getting to my computer? Should I be dusting out my psu as well in order to verify that it's not overheating? My PSU is sitting at the bottom of my case so it might get hot down there. Can anyone help?
Update: I figured it would be helpful to let you guys know that the crash is pretty random. This morning I played for about 2-3 hours and nothing happened. Later today at around 4 p.m. I played only 20 minutes before getting the crash.
