Your 50" LED TV (which is actually an LCD TV w/ an LED back-light, as there are NO TRUE LED TV's yet) comment is pointless. You do know that even if it IS a 50" TV it still only displays at 1920x1080, right? This is because your console (and in most cases TV) only supports resolutions UP TO 1920x1080; even then very few games run at that resolution where the rest run at 1280x720.

Now if someone were to run a high resolution (ie 2560x1600) 50" LCD monitor (if they even make high res monitors that big, most are 30") running the same game but, at the maximum resolution supported. The PC would dominate in terms of detail, of course that would only be possible IF the developer decided to code the graphics to take full advantage of the available API. If they were lazy and did a direct port they would look essentially the same but, the superior resolutions on the PC would provide for sharper detail.

As a side note, I have a PS3. Though, most cross platform games I have on my PC unless there are some ridiculous issues with the PC version of a game, a la Splinter Cell: Double Agent. Otherwise it's PS3 exclusives or console only games.

[citation][nom]back_by_demand[/nom]MS isn't listening to anyone whose protest arguement contains words like "retarded" or "bullshit", and if you think they use Toms Hardware forums as a source of consumer feedback you must be tripping...Call it what it is, grandstanding and bandwagoning[/citation]

Ya your right. Nobody from the tech industry ever reads stuff on a tech website. Welcome to the world of AppleSoft. I hope you like your new windows.

MS following Apple's lead, shocking! Sadly what made PC gaming great, Windows, may now be PC gaming's downfall. Especially since MS is pushing XBox. MAC based gaming may grow but only systems we can build ourselves support Windows/Linux. Time will tell how PC gaming survives.

This does not provide any good reasons for pirating software.

All Macs today support both Windows and Linux and furthermore, most Windows programs work on OSX and Linux (especially Linux). Even games tend to work on Linux if you know what you're doing and they tend to work well. Regardless, Windows 8 doesn't hinder gaming in any way, so none of this matters much anyway. This is just Blizzard and Valve BSing about the Windows Store, Xbox Live, and them trying to hide it as a complaint about things that aren't even true, presumably because they don't like the competition.

Microsoft with Windows 8 and possible hardware guidelines should be in a position to finally provide a secure, unhackable experience unlike what the Steam service has displayed by forcing distribution and updates through the Win8 marketplace something that Apple has been doing for some time now and quite successfully. Combine this Apple copycatted strategy along with Microsoft's newfound and as of yet unenforced ability to guide PC hardware in the proper direction by implementing stricter PC hardware security requirements on all PCs (TPM armed motherboards for dual authentification measures and HD encryption for starters) should theoretically make Gabe happy as this was the road he was demanding for the PC to follow officially on April of last year on stage with Intel to put an end to hacking that ruins every aspect of the PC experience.

Nothing is unable to be hacked unless it can't be accessed. Even Apple's web stores have been hacked/exploited on occasion.

Windows 8 the new Windows Vista! Its sales are going to be only from dumb Xbox Fan Boys! Microsoft enjoy Failure once again.

Vista was an exceptionally heavy, driver-issue ridden, otherwise in-stable and buggy, and simply slow OS. It didn't run well on a lot of computers for its time and had many issues. Windows 8 has none of these issues except with the older versions of its alpha/beta graphics drivers. If Windows 8 does fail (it almost certainly won't), then it will be because of extremely different issues than Vista had. 8 is faster, lighter, less buggy, and otherwise superior in UI excluding Metro, depending on your opinion of it, but you don't ned to use Metro anyway, so it doesn't matter much at all. It's also cheaper. It's a win-win OS and whining about it over Metro, something that you don't even need to use, seems foolish.

Obviously you missed my point, i wasn't saying that windows 8 had the same problems that Vista had! What i was saying is that Microsoft created a tablet OS and decided to shove it to the desktop lover as a F You present! Windows 8 in my opinion sucks, other companies agree and so does most people who has used it. Windows 8 is good for tablets. Furthermore, i don't see too much market for windows 7 users for windows 7 is more friendly, faster and easier to use!

How is Windows 8 a tablet OS? It has a desktop that is very similar to the Windows 7 desktop and if someone really misses the start menu (even when I don't have it in Windows 8, the desktop and taskbar let me get by just fine without a start menu most of the time), they can simply install one. This is free, quick, and easy. The companies aren't saying that Windows 8 sucks, they are using this as a way to complain about MS competing with them with Xbox Live and MS's app stores.

Also, Windows 8 is faster than Windows 7 and it seems more practical (closest that I can get to friendly, I don't even know what to say about that term in this context) with its better task manager and copy manager (among other improvements), and due to its enhancements and performance enhancements, I ind Windows 8 to be easier to use than Windows 7.

If I missed your point, it is because I completely disagree with it. Don't give in to the hype. Have you even tested Windows 8 properly? I use it and Windows Server 2012 on an almost daily basis and I don't have any problems.

I did use windows 8 and let me tell you it is fing annoying and a total waste of gbs. Furthermore, the dumb menu is meant for touch screens, even Microsoft itself said so! Hence Tablet OS. In addition to that Everyone I speak with in the computer business says same thing that they will NOT buy windows 8! I appreciate your opinion and don't judge me wrong i understand what your saying, however i believe windows 8 is a flop and it is going to be the biggest flop for windows!

What menu? The menu that was formerly known as Metro? I don't use it when I use Windows 8. I have a task bar, a desktop, and on the task bar I have its Windows 7 pinning as well as a quick launch and I can get a start menu if I care to. Calling it a tablet OS because of a menu that you don't even need to use seems ridiculous.
