Fuck blizzard. they are getting way to much money of all these NERDS!!!!!!!!!! and no matter how bad their customer support or how much they mess up with changes to the game they still keep the nerds coming back when they dont deserve it. Not only that Blizzcon is paid by the nerds not blizzard with their high prices.

All we get anymore is old news.

To hell with WoW anyway. I grew out of that game years ago. Yes YEARS! People should be ashamed of themselves for letting it go on as long as it did. So much for innovation, eh?

[citation][nom]jerohmeee[/nom]I would not be surprised if this next gen MMO comes out sooner than you guys think. ...I would not be surprised if Blizzard announces this new MMO next year. I am guessing a 2012 release.[/citation]
you're insane
you think they'll release a new mmo 2 years after releasing cataclysm ? one year after D3 ? the same year as the last installment of the SC2 trilogy ?
why would they eat into those games' revenue by releasing a new mmo ?
seriously, one year after D3 ? Everybody will still be playing that and SC2, and WoW will STILL be strong.
There is NO way we will see this before 2015, and the poster above who said 2019 is probably closer.

and, yes, this article was really worthless. It contained nothing new at all. A few posters above stated this and they are correct. I don't know why they received negative votes.

Well... 11 million players (or something like that), paying a varrying amount ($15 in U.S.A., more in Canada/Europe, less in Asia), let's assume they're making $10 USD per user... that's about $100,000,000 a month or $1.2 billion a year... I think they have the money to invest, so it's only smart they do something with the money.

[citation][nom]Superphrank[/nom]Pretty sure Blizzard told us this a year ago.[/citation]
More or less, yes.

I was expecting they would say a bit more about their "brand new MMO" this blizzconn.

Yep, substract 300 million $ expenses (this number comes from blizzard itself) and you still get insane amount of cash.

they have already stated it will e a new IP, get with the program people 😛

Blizzard community manager Zarhym has confirmed it on the official WoW forums that the upcoming MMO will be a brand new franchise ages ago.

I'd like a nice blend of Wow, GW, and Lineage. Gw has it right with a skill-based fighting system. Wow has it right with the insane amount of items, quests, and bosses. Lineage has it right when it comes down to character art.

Also figure this: with the 85mil in profits each month, do you not think they can develop multiple games at the same time? With the economy how it is, getting workers isn't all that hard if they need to hire. Also, D3 and SCII are in a different catagory.

Haha I love the nerd-raging nerds calling people nerds!

Blizzard has announced there will be one "major" release a year, will SCII in 2010, Cataclysm will most likely be late 2010, DIII in Late 2011. SCII will have released all 3 campaigns by 2011, tack on a xpack for each and your looking at 2012-2013.

Meaning we can expect to see the new MMO around 2014. 5-6 years from announcement is standard for Blizzard, as long as the whole project doesnt get scrapped ala DIII (RiP Blizzard North).

Will WoW still be going strong 10 years after release? I don't think it will have 11 million subscribers, but Diablo 2 still has tens of thousands of people playing, and it didn't have nearly the player base; so expecting WoW to still be kicking in 5 more years is not unreasonable.

Totally different MMO? World of Starcraft : The game where players go down on missions, not quests! No levels, ranks! No raid groups, squadrons!

You'll see... it'll be VERY different...

As long as the old art/character concept artists are no where near this new MMO I may look into it. (Ya lame excuse but WoW & WCIII have this disney'esq art look)

[citation][nom]imprezawrx[/nom]I would like something like Fallout 3 (Post-apocalypse)[/citation]
Oh... that would be so tight!! I love Fallout 3!! An MMORPG in that universe would be so awesome (assuming they don't Disney the hell out of it to try and get a PG rating).

Wish I had the time to play more than one MMO, but alas I must work ;(

Their next gen MMO is a steam punk type game, pretty good idea IMO, should be fun. (No, i don't care if you don't believe me.)

TBH, a new universe would be appreciated as they've been doing Starcraft, Warcraft, and Diablo universes for a long while now
