[citation][nom]El_Capitan[/nom]Might have to boycott StarCraft II. They're probably having problems how to handle the multi-player aspects of releasing StarCraft II as a Trilogy. Currently, if you want to play the campaign as the Zerg or Protoss, you'll need to get the 2nd and 3rd game. Pricing will probably be set at $60 per game, too.* Terrans - Wings of Liberty* Zerg - Heart of the Swarm* Protoss - Legacy of the VoidIt would be funny if you only had the Terrans set, you could only play multiplayer as the Terrans, etc. I'm sure that's how they're going to do it.Imagine if we all buy into this crap. Diablo III as a 5-game set, one $60 game for each playable character.Honestly, we need to boycott this nonsense now.[/citation]

The next bit of nonsense to boycott is the way blizzard makes you pay for a game *after* you buy it. From what I've heard (merely though the grape-vine, no source so far) you will have to pay to use Battle.net

you cant compare sc 2 to half life ep 3..... sc 2 is like... 10 years in the making.

This is so disappointing. I've been playing Broodwar for the past couple months everyday patiently waiting for the beta to roll out.

I hope this is just some cruel troll attempting to make people mad @ blizzard.

[citation][nom]deadlockedworld[/nom]This is like the 10th time they have delayed. The only thing they could do to make this worse? -add random matchmaking like modern warfare.[/citation]

Warcraft 3 had matchmaking (Horrible though, first game I was paired up against someone who was "Level 12"). Of course you still had a custom games list, so it's not bad.

I actually wouldn't be surprised. If there's people willing to pay, they'll play. If there's people willing not to pay but still play, people out there will find a way.

I'm saving up my money to start my own gaming company (probably 3-5 years down the road), and a concept that I have is releasing a full single player version for free, but you have to pay a one-time fee to play online ($40), which you'll get LAN or Dedicated server support (if necessary), multiplayer, a modding repository, access to tournaments, rankings, etc.

If anyone's played StarCraft back in the day (or if they still do now, lol), there was more fun playing mods than the single-player campaign, and often better storylines, too (except no CGI cutscenes).

Charging twice, now that's a rip-off. Pay either for the game, or the online access, but not both (unless it's a little for each, but then, why even bother?).

lol they are to buisy trying to squeeze more money out of the WoW crowd.

This whole mystique and misconception that they take there time to get out quality is nonesense.

I remember In WoW Beta which i was a part of early on that hero classes where promised to be in on release. 3 years later you have only one, The Death Kinight and like one or two. Blizzerd is becomming a joke.

Anyone remember Starcraft Ghost?

I heard of StarCraft Ghost, but never knew what happened with that.

There's 3 types of gamers:
1. The casual ones who'll play maybe an hour a day, 5 hours a week.
2. The hardcore ones who'll play a few hours a day, 2-3 days a week.
3. The addicts who die on the computer playing 36 hours straight, and those that pay for stupid shit.

Personally, I believe that Blizzard is just sitting there playing with photoshop. There is no D3 or SC2. It's like a sick joke. I bet they crack up all the time when they see articles like this. "Oh look! People still believe this EXISTS! lol @ them!"

[citation][nom]pooflinger1[/nom]Perhaps they just intend to have the beat period be smaller.... Think about it. Beta's are like appetizers... They just want to give you enough so that you are starving by the time the main course comes around. If the appetizer is too large, then you are less hungry when it comes time for the main course.Blizzard lives off of hype and rumors. Do they make great games. Yes. But they also aren't known for releasing a ton of info.[/citation]
No. Betas are for finding any bugs in the game that the developers, who are developing/testing the game in a highly controlled environment, may have missed. If a game has too short of a beta testing cycle (or worse, NO beta testing at all), it generally results in an unfinished and substandard product.

All in all, I couldn't be less surprised. Not even sure I'm gonna get this; the first SC was good, but I like to have more depth in an RTS (read: Z-axis). I'm more pumped about the possibility of Homeworld 3, and that hasn't even really been so much as hinted at.

Where did the thing about a $60 game come from?Seriously though I have really begun to stop caring about Starcraft II now,if the beta is getting pushed back I highly doubt its gonna come out in 2010.

I have always loved blizzard games and there dedication to make quality games but they are taking way to long to release these games, promises broken and just more and more delays.. Time SC2 and D3 finally release I just dont think I will be as interested as I used to be already begining to just not give a crap anymore..

"achievements" wtf is this console sh*t? the achievement is meant to be finishing a level, or finishing the game. something you should feel without needing a little pixel art trophy shoved in your face.

the only achievement I wanna see from blizzard is the release of the F#@&ing game! I don't care about battle net or achievements or any other bandwagon jumping! just give us the game! the game hardly looked next gen or even had next gen system requirements back when it was announced, like 100 years ago! if they wait much longer, its gonna be released looking archaic! and if that happens then whats the point? we already have an archaic looking starcraft, its called "Starcraft"

I bet 75% of the people complaining here will end up buying the game and loving it. Everyone should realize by now that Blizzard is a company that thoroughly tests and retests their products before release. How many games have been reviewed by this site and others that have said "The game could be better if it wasn't rushed to be released" or something similar. Game where people wait forever to play it and they do not live up to the hype. Blizzard seems to be an exception. I was obsessed with SC when it came out, and will be obsessed with SC2 when it comes out, be that next year or the year after. I'm perfectly fine with waiting for an amazing final product.

Delay again. Is this ever gonna come out. I know Blizzard is meticulous about their product, but this is taking way too long.

Enough of this $50 or $60 per game nonsense. It has been said that the other two will be expansions, meaning the $35 range upon release for each. And each expansion will have up to thirty missions, not ten, so you are not being ripped-off in terms length. So, in the end, you get two expansions instead of the more traditional one expansion. Any excuse to complain about Blizzard and the game being delayed.

you're an idiot
world of warcraft is full of bugs
hell, the D2 1.1.3 was delayed for 6 months because they had pull people off it to fix some WoW bugs; and the D2 patch still hasn't come out
how shitty is that ? As much money as Blizzard has and they can't afford to have 2 teams working on 2 different games
