Bloodmoon - stuck in the castle!

I'm stuck in the ice caverns of castle with Kirst. He told me his sad
tale of the ice trolls ("Grahls"), after being employed, eating his
kinsmen. We fought bravely together but the little king-to-be kept
dying. I decided to reload and take on the trolls by myself. I
slayed all but one and went back to Kirst and went through the
dialogue options so that he would follow me. Together we vanquished
the last Grahl in the caverns but passage to the Banquet Hall is still
barred. I talk to Kirst but he keeps on saying how we must defeat all
of the monsters before he'll let me in. I have eight Grahl eyeballs
in my inventory but he refuses to believe the monsters are gone. I do
believe I overwrote my save before entering the caverns. What can I
do?

Hmm. I just did that one myself. What I did (and it may be too late for
you, I'm afraid) was to find this section of the cave where there's a bunch
of stalagmites and ice formations in the way. I was able to jump over them,
but the little ah heck couldn't, so I lost him. Then I was able to take down
all the Grahls on my own without any risk to the little guy. Afterwards, I
just ran around until I found him again, and made my way to the exit. Of
course it probably also helps that my character is like lvl 50-something
now, with 300 speed, and able to kill Grahls in 3 shots even with a weapon
he's not specialized in. (I'm supposed to be using axe and blunt, but I
maxed them both a long time ago, so now I'm using spears.) If nothing else
works, you might try sneaking into the castle the illegal way...

Open the console and type:

coc "Solstheim, Castle Karstaag, Banquet Hall"

Or something like that. If you go to the door to the Banquet Hall, you'll
see the name of the room you need to enter, and just type that verbatim in
the quotes. This will probably screw up your quest, though, so I don't
recommend it. Possibly some other people can give you the commands to
properly credit yourself with the quest. I'm really a novice at console
stuff.

I'd expect it's 100 normal maximum +200 from the BoBS.
