As per title, I just experienced BSOD "tcpip.sys w/ System Service Exception Error" - Stop 3B. I realise there are other threads regarding this, but they all seem to be tailored for individual cases. Could someone help walk me through this?

Much appreciated.

Stupid question... How? I've always wondered this but never asked. Thank you.

NB. I have AVG free and Malwarebytes full version installed. No firewall that I'm aware of. Windows defender is deactivated. AVG and MWB aren't firewalls, are they?

I did download BSV, but it doesn't appear to say anymore than I've already written: The below two are the highlighted items.

Does any of that help? If not, I might use drop box, I'm guessing that would work...

Thank you!

Thank you - done. This should work...

I did notice you have to click 'download' twice, once to bring up the 'sign in' box, then again after clicking 'X' on the sign in box.. I'm sure you're aware of that though.

Also, you probably saw I answered the question about Firewalls and such, but I'm guessing that isn't pertinent now we have the DMP.

Will wait to hear. Thx.

Cool, that was easy for you to discern! Just a couple of questions before I proceed..

1. Did you determine which one it was, AVG or Daemon Tools?

2. If it was indeed Daemon Tools, would updating it to a newer version help?

3. If it was indeed AVG, is there any way I can do without the BSOD's and have my cake (AVG) to?

4. Lastly, what do you use in replacement for AVG and Windows defender? I've always just used AVG/Malwarebytes together, but any advice on this would be very helpful. Maybe I need a seperate Firewall program? Do I need another antivirus, or will Malwarebytes do it all? ...I should probably ask this in a new post...

Feel free to answer as many or none of those questions as you like - sorry there's so many : /

Your help's been much appreciated. I'll select your answer shortly : )

I wouldnt use Daemontools. If you use it just for mounting ISO's if you had Win10, it supports ISO natively

It doesnt matter what version you install or what OS you use. It crashes

Win10 is on the the other PC here. But I've also installed Poweriso. Only thing it's not free. But once you pay for it, you get lifetime updates.

Both AVG and DT can cause crashes.

I would avoid AVG and Avast like the plague. Both are now owned by the same company - Avast. They also now own ccleaner / piriform

Dont go to dodgy sites / get dodgy files. Then you wont get infected

I've never installed any 3rd party AV programs / firewalls. Theyre crap IMO.

And sooner or later they'll crash. I'll stick with defender even tho it sucks and Windows firewall
