I seem to have the Yeti "frying mosquitos" bug on my two-year-old Blue Yeti. The mic makes an obnoxious background whine constantly, to the point where friends on Discord claim they can't even hear me speak.

Example: https://voca.ro/oboVqaQ91aO

Changing USB ports and cables does absolutely nothing, and the sound is the same across multiple platforms, so it's definitely coming from the mic itself. This just started happening spontaneously - nothing in my setup has changed recently.

If anyone has a surefire fix, I'm all ears. Otherwise, what similarly-priced microphone would you recommend as a replacement? I'm looking for something that isn't suddenly going to die an electric death in a year or two.

It does sound like replacement will be needed.

I can't say anything about how long it will last, but I had problems with volume under W10 with my Blue Snowball, so I bought a Fifine Lavalier. That seems to feed the USB differently and sounds OK . Their support was very good with a config issue. They do other mics and might be worth checking out.
