A couple of weeks ago I acquired a Samsung UE40EH5300 Smart LED TV. It works perfectly well, including the built in apps, among others YouTube and a full operational browser. The only drawback is the required use of the remote control to 'type' letters, numbers and characters which makes it a very slow process.
The TV accepts an external USB keyboard for doing this job, however one needs a long cable to connect the keyboard to the TV. A better solution would be a remote keyboard. All remote keyboards that I know have only bluetooth output, where unfortunately the TV does not have a Bluetooth input.
What would be required is either a remote keyboard with IR output or an intelligent blue tooth adapter which converts the incoming Bluetooth signals to USB in such a way that the USB input of the TV 'understands' them. It maybe a question of software or firmware.

Solution
Most wireless USB keyboards will come with a little dongle thing that plugs right into any USB port as a receiver. As long as your TV has a USB port, and it does from what you've said, it should be fine. My only concern is if you need to download any drivers or anything to make it work; I'm not entirely sure on whether a smart TV can do that.
Have you considered using a wireless USB keyboard? It might be easier (and cheaper!) than getting a keyboard that requires an adapter. I'm not certain on whether smart TVs can install or even acquire drivers the way a PC could though (they used to not be able to even recognize keyboards). I'd assume they can, otherwise they wouldn't be very "smart" TVs! If you have any friends with a wireless USB keyboard, it might be worth a shot to borrow it and test it out!

Thanks for your reaction. I did not know that a wireless USB Keyboard existed! If it exists then I need also a wireless USB dongle or adapter as input on the TV. Do you have a recommendation for a combination of wireless USB keyboard and the USB dongle/adapter. Anyhow thanks again: your solution would of course be the most straightforward solution!

Solution
did you find a wireless solution for your smart tv? how? with a bluetooth dongle ?

if your tv is smart and has usb plug in ,the usb wireless keyboard work perfect. the key board already comes with a dongle . you do not need to download any drivers. just plug in and a screen comes up asking if you want to aprove the keyboard. click yes and you are good to go. I have a samsung smart tv and just recently hooked up a Microsoft wireless keyboard. no problems, super.easy.plug and play . hope this answers your qs.
