Hi,

Does Windows 11 support the AAC Bluetooth codec? If so how do I select it and save it for my Bluetooth headphones?

My headphones are Bluetooth version 5.2 and the Bluetooth device in my computer is also version 5.2. Where do I go in Windows 11 to optimise the Bluetooth sound settings to give it the best sound output?

Cheers,

Great is there anyway to verify this during playback?
bluetooth tweaker, its paid app, but it has 7day free trial

it shows which codecs are supported by your bluetooth devices and which is selected by windows
if windows uses wrong codec, theres nothing to do about it

alternatively you can get bluetooth audio transmitter where you can select manualy which codec you want to use

Windows supports AAC and SBC. Unfortunately, latency is usually higher vs ios or android for some reason, using the same codes. I believe Andriod or Ios compensates for latency somehow.

For music its fine, but if you want to game on Bluetooth, I'd suggest shopping for a AptXLL Bluetooth transceiver for your PC and getting headphones that can use that codec.

Update - transceiver

My headphones support AAC and SBC only.
