I had intact os just wanted to do a fresh install because I upgraded and used old setup nforce chipsets on both mobos.System was buggy.
Grandson needed hard drive so I was planning on giving him my old one
so I bought a 320 gig seagate to migrate to.Well I reformated my oringinal
hard drive and did a fresh install and updated xp from original to sp1 then sp2.Then used seadisk to clone over to sata and all I get is error loading os.After bios screen I get a black screen with that message cursor blinks thats it.

as far as i know there is some problem between your ram and your hdd cause i had this same problem and the culprit was the ram. u can consult with others as well. try to use a different ram.

all ready tried a fresh install did not work thats why I cloned the drive to see if something else is wrong.Ill call seagate and see what they say.I am having no memory issues could play any game no prob.Install on my 160 gig went seamlessly so I don't see memory being an issue.

If you have an older MB it may only be able to boot on SATA 1 drives and the 320 is a SATA 2. Check MB website for compatibility.

i think first. you need to make sure the jumpers correctly set..
then make sure the IDE cable funtions properly
then try booting it.. can u create a partition?..
