(Not sure if called boot loop). My PC's keeps shutting down before Bios settings then starts up again every time I have my USB Monitor connected (AOC e1659fwux). But once I disconnect it it boots up fine into windows 10.

I've tried resetting CMOS and changed the Battery. I have the the right drivers installed. Can't figure it out. I haven't seen any post with a similar situation. All boot loop problems I've seen has nothing to do with USB Monitors

Lmk if need more specs

Mahalo in advance

Woah, never heard of a usb monitor 😛.
Lets try some diagnostics first: with the monitor disconnected, does the pc get past the bios? ( assuming with the monitor plugged in, it gets to the screen and then the screen goes black and repeats?) And assuming you use windows, which normally plays a sound when you get to the log in screen or after you log on, is there an audable sound with the monitor disconnected? You will need to input your password without a screen (not to difficult) and will need speakers or headphones to hear the sound. If you hear a sound or find some other way of finding out that it did in fact get past the bios screen, then the usb monitor is at fault. The problem with usb devices like keyboards, mice, card readers etc is that some bios's have issues using them or even detecting them or may even crash altogether. My only recommendation is to use another monitor (vga, dvi, hmdi etc) to explore the bios and mess around with usb settings like lecgcy usb support etc until you find a fix, otherwise, i can offer no other help.

thank you so much for the reply.
When the monitor is disconnected: Yes, pc gets past the Bios.
Sound: No, but Yes, i use windows and no sound plays tho ( i think i have startup sound disable thats why)

USB monitor is at fault: I plug back in the usb monitor right after gets past bios screen (before windows log in). and after windows log in and the monitor works perfectly fine no issues.

The USB monitor is mainly used as a second monitor so im able to tinker on the main. ill try messing around in bios like you said.

No problem, keep me updated on you issue/ if you find a fix, im curious to see this, the thought of a usb monitor still baffles me.
Heres a neato diy project or a simple amazon search- a usb switch sorta thing. When you want to boot the pc, keep the usb plugged into the switch, and the switch in the pc, but with the switch OFF, when the pc is past the bios, flip the switch on and bam, second monitor without having to fiddle with plugging it in every time (NB: put the switch somewhere you can turn it on easily)

Problem fixed: took me long to get back here cuz i had to make sure it was consistent. all i did was update the bios LOL :pt1cable: 😀. thanks you again!!
