I built my own computer using an ASRock H270M Pro4 LGA 1151 Intel H270 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX motherboard; however, I am definitely a hardware armature.

Appreciate advice on boot order specifically the difference between the Boot Option Priorities, the Hard Drive BBS Priorities and the CD/DVD ROM Drive BBS Priorities?

Currently I show three Boot Options Priorities with the first logically set to Windows Boot Manager (Samsung SSD… where my boot records and Windows OS are stored and I understand the prefix of “Windows Boot Manager” indicates the entry is the UEFI boot entry and means it uses the Windows EFI boot loader) . Each of the three permits selection of three sources

My Hard Drive BBS Priorities include the SSD, a terabyte hard drive and an older 80 GB hard drive is use for some temporary backups. Neither of the latter has and OS and no other choices are available.

My CD/DDVD ROM Drive BBS Priorities has only one entry, my CD

There appears no option for a USB memory stick.

Searching the forum finds numerous responses to questions on boot order but none that I have found address the more general question of significance or purpose of Hard Drive BBS Priorities and the CD/DVD ROM Drive BBS Priorities

Usually hard drive would be your last on the list.
You could arrange it like CD > USB > HDD.
If no CD -> Check USB, if no USB -> boot with normal HDD

For the USB boot not appearing, are you having Secure Boot enabled?
Try to disable it in BIOS page

xeddiex,

Understand why you might set the Boot Order as you described but with my need to boot from other than my hard drive rare (actually an SSD) and having the option of changing that order by intruuping the boot sequence with F11, I assumed I boot faster. Also I do have Secure Boot disabled but a quick check suggests it has value that I should understand.

Now the above is off the subject that I would like to understand. I do think I understand the Boot Option Priorities, but definitely not the Hard Drive BBS Priorities and the CD/DVD ROM Drive BBS Priorities?
