Hey everyone! So, basically, I'm a little confused. I just bought a brand new gaming rig, the rest of the parts are coming in tomorrow.

So, I have an HDD where I store most of my games. This HDD already has a copy of windows on it. My new SSD doesn't. I have a USB ready with a copy of windows on it.

My question is, when I get everything built up and going, and boot into my bios will I have an option to override the current HDD copy of windows, so that I can boot it onto my SSD. Will there be an issue with having two copies of windows? Will I somehow have to delete the copy of windows on my HDD for this to work?

Thanks in advance!

Have only the SSD connected when you do this OS installation.

Later, you reconnect the old HDD.
Ideally, you want to wipe that HDD of all data.
This involves copying things you want from it to somewhere else, wiping that drive, and copy that data back.

To make simple for yourself, only install and connect the SSD, and then install Windows accordingly. After this is sorted out, you can then connect your old HDD. As long as boot priority is set up correctly to boot from SSD, it shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks for letting me know, man.

Thanks for the answer, also why should I delete the whole HDD, and install everything back? Just curious.
