Bootmgr is compressed windows xp fix without cd

my cd drive does not work and am using windows xp. how do i go about this error:Bootmgr is compressed

Go to bios setup and select cd to first boot. Also check drive cable.

Is the drive damaged, or just the cd ain't working? try and borrow another Win xp cd.
If U don't want to repair install, you NEED to have cd access!!!

because U need to go to Recovery console, use command lines and do a
bootrec /fixmbr, and a /fixboot .

If not, and U have an usb stick to boot from it (only if your bios allows it, and U still need to copy files from xp cd) and U can do a Repair install.
