I have had a HP 9795c computer for around 3 years. Last week I started having problems with computer booting. When I boot from a cold start the bios does not recognize the IDE channel the hard drives are on. I put in a new hard drive and had the same problem. When I changed IDE channels the bios would still not recognize the hard drives. Occasionally the other drive with the CD and DVD would not be recognized but it occured mainly with the hard drives.
After several attempts it will finally boot up and everything is fine. When I do a hot reboot there is no problem.
Any ideas as to what the problem could be or additional things I might do?
