Bottleneck Help!

Hey guys,
I am thinking of buying a 2nd BFG GTX 275 OC 896mb to give my computer some extra fps in games since I use a 1920x1200 monitor. I wanted to check and see if you guys think I will get results from this upgrade or if my bottleneck lies elsewhere. Here are my specs
Core 2 E6700
Asus P5Q (Or is it PQ5)?
6gb Ram

Im thinking my cpu might be the bottleneck and that would require a much more extensive upgrade. Let me know. Thanks!

A plain P5Q is not a crossfire board. P5Q pro? P5Q-E?

Regardless, you can get more mileage out of your CPU with an overclock. I would OC as the first step, see how much of your performance issue goes away and decide from there.

Your chipset will not support SLI, so your only real options are to OC, swap the processor, or swap your current GTX 275 for a GTX 285, GTX 295, or crossfire 2 HD 4890s as your board doesnt support SLI, or if you have the plain P5Q you only have 1 PCI-E 16x slot

Damn I didnt research that mobo well enough apparently. Well, say I did want to swap out the mobo and processor for a cost efficient upgrade, do you guys have any recommendations??

I only recommend X58 boards for SLI, and that's not real cost efficient.
Still, a GTX 275 should be pretty good at reasonable resolutions.

Just put a big OC on the CPU. If that makes a big difference then maybe you'll want to throw an E8400 or Q9550 onto that board.

Any recommendations on learning how to OC? I OCed once to see if I could get GTA 4 running decently and it BSODed, even though it was a relatively mild OC. May have just been the program but that turned me off from it for the time being.

A single GTX 275 will be fine for now.
Add one more when you get new cpu.

what games do you play? i can play most games at almost maxed settings at 1920x1200 with a good old 8800gt. Your probobly better off upgrading the cpu. games love lots of cpu cache memory. like the other post said, q9550 or e8400 would be the last cpu upgrade for your current system, and one of the best. sli after that is an option, but it is a pricey one.
