Question bought a 5070ti on feb 20th. contemplating return or shipping out. (missing ROPs)

I bought a RTX 5070ti on release, finally got around to opening it, found out through GPUZ that it has only 88 ROPs instead of the 96 it is supposed to have. i have a decision to make, either i can return it to micro center and try to get an exchange, which may be difficult because of shortages, OR i reach out to MSI and send it off and wait for however long for another card to get to me. I am looking to get some advice. If i decide to return the card to micro center, today is the last day to do it, and it is not a far drive for me.

If I were in your shoes, I'd return it on grounds that I didn't pay for something that's missing. The other ground would've also been that the RX 9070 XT is on par with Nvidia's RTX 5070 Ti.

I also don't think your response from MSI would be in due time before your ultimatum runs out.

Do not leave things at the last min and take it back to store ASAP and explain because you paid for GPU and turns out GPU is missing ROPs. You paid for 5070ti performance

I'd return it ASAP. Steve Burke from Gamers Nexus has said when discussing missing ROP's. It affects performance and you can easily windup with an RTX 5070 instead.

I got a response back from MSI, they said that once they receive my card, it will take roughly 2-3 weeks to receive a new one.

Good. Return it 100%. If they shortchange you again, get a refund and get a 9070xt on principle alone.
