Bought wrong CPU help Please

Ordered a few parts and got mixed up and ordered the 6600 not the 6600k. Didn't plan on OCing but i figured the turbo to 3.9GHz would give extra performance in game. **Also i noticed it was a 6600 after I installed it so can i still return to Newegg? (In US and only had the CPU for about 3 days so not beyond return limit)

Contact Newegg and explain the situation. I doubt they will accept back an opened CPU, but it is worth a try.
On the other hand, if you never opened the package, it should be returnable... if you contact them first with the story.

Depending on the rest of your system, and the lack of interest in OC'ing, probably not. I doubt you'd be able to tell the difference between the two CPUs. In fact, I know you wouldn't.

Long story short i accidentally got an i5-6600 not an i5-6600k. I see people comparing them and the 6600 they use always has a higher clock then mine. Mine is an LGA1151 i5-6600 @3.3GHz. No hyperthreading, or overclocking (didn't plan to tho) so is a quad-core cpu running at 3.3GHz no matter what any good? I want to find out so i can return it to Newegg and trade for a better one

Your CPU should be perfectly fine for gaming. I have an i5 4590, 3.3Ghz, 4 cores, 4 threads, and it does not bottleneck my R9 390 in any way.
