Question Bright spots on laptop that are more noticeable when dark, and invisible when bright

The Spots on the laptop suddenly appeared last night after I took my laptop out of my backpack. I am careful with my laptop, and don't remember hitting it on anything in the given time frame where they could have appeared. When I apply pressure to the screen near the smaller spots, they seem to go away and only return when I remove the pressure, so the issue probably has something to do with pressure. Any ideas what is could be, how to fix it or what it would cost to get it fixed?
(Ignore the other spots not circled, my screen is a little dirty. But the bright spots are NOT on the surface)

Those look like pressure spots on the LCD. Some debris or dust could have gotten in between the keyboard and display, which could have damaged the panel. You mentioned when you press on the LCD the spots go away, but don't put any more pressure on the screen. This could further damage the display and could cause the pressure spots to spread. You could potentially open up the machine to clean up the areas behind the panel, but this is something that is generally unfixable without replacing the entire screen.

I'm fairly certain this will not fix your problem, but you could run a pixel repair test over the damaged area. Go to this website and click Stuck Pixel Repair. then, move the window over the damaged spots and let it sit for a few hours, or potentially overnight. As I already mentioned, the damage appears to be LCD pressure spots, but running this test can't hurt, so it may be worth a try.

As far as replacing the entire panel, the price depends on your laptop model. Higher end laptops will cost more to repair, more so if you hire someone to replace it for you. Alternatively, you could run the same display. If the damaged area doesn't impede your workflow, it might be worth it to use the damaged screen for now. If the screen gets completely broken, or the pressure spots spread you can always replace the display later. Hope this helped, take care.
