As long as the cpu is x86 it will support any windows and as long as the cpu is 64bit it can support any 64bit windows you can even go with windows 10 if you want

Well considering I’ve used many motherboards that don’t have drivers for the chipsets on their websites for windows 10 and they have always worked I’m willing to bet it would work if not with windows 8 with windows 10 even though they are very similar. I’m not sure what this is all entailing if your trying to switch over systems or something if you can make a back up of your important data on a separate thumb drive or sd card or something and go to town with Instalation on the new system.

You'll need to check if you have the motherboard drivers. Else, you will need to find out if each component manufacturer (audio, nic, chipset, etc) has a 8.1 driver. A lot of times you can find drivers for the components even though the motherboard maker doesn't specifically support a particular version of windows. Good luck!
