Hi.
A few days ago a friend of mine wanted to change its motherboard and when taking the gpu out he pulled to hard and hit one of the square black things from the back of the pcb with the cpu cooler. The black thing is still on the gpu it didn't fell off.
His graphics card is a gtx 1660 ti from asus the dual edition and since then the gpu doesn't work anymore.
My question is what are those black things and if the gpu can be repaired.
Thank you in advance.

Solution
If the disturbed part is black, it's likely a resistor, inductor, diode, transistor, or MOSFET, and would require re-soldering, and possible broken trace repair to put the board back in service.

If he hasn't already started repairing the board, himself, this kind of remedy is likely beyond his present skillset.

Replacing the GPU remains the fastest solution to the problem.
As a practical matter, it is impossible to determine if the card can be repaired, or not. More information (along with clear, close-up, photos) would be required to tell you that.

Replacement of the card would give him the fastest path to putting the system back into service.
