Question Broken motherboard slot?

The last time I turned on my pc, it turned on for a couple minutes then turned off again, so I unplugged and plugged back in all the wires, still happening.

So I cleaned my pc, it still didn't work properly. I figured it was the graphics card so I removed it and installed it on another motherboard I borrowed and it worked. I'm thinking that the slot on my motherboard for my gpu isn't working.

Do I need to replace my whole motherboard?
(I only know the basics of pc building)

Solution
Thanks for the replies, turns out the PCIe slot is faulty, tried the gpu in another slot in the same motherboard and it worked, but i was planning on upgrading my build to two gpus so i replaced the motherboard anyway. I still don't know how the slot was broken though.
