Hello,

I have Brother DCP-T220 inkjet printer (Tank Refill system), I forgot to print a page every 10 - 15 days as I should with inkjet printers, and after 2+ months of being idle I needed to print and the print quality was very bad -both colored and black-.
Did some normal cleaning pages, very slight improvement, tried Deep Clean cycle (repeated three times) and problem was not solved.
Did some research online and found out a method involving unplugging power while the printer is printing something to release the head, then opening the printer, placing a tissue damped with distilled water for about 15 minutes under the print head to dissolve the dry ink.
Do you recommend this method? or do you have a better way?

Thanks in advance for your time.
Kind Regards

I'd try and see if repeating the deep clean cycle a couple of more times helps. I've had a similar issue when I used to own a printer back in the day and prolonged no printing sessions would cause the nozzle/head of the printer to get clogged.

Thanks, I did repeated normal clean, deep clean many times each, I even printed full colored pages between cleans and I had some improvement to a point I was just wasting time and ink.

I post this update to help anyone whom is having this issue, the method discribed above WORKED beautifully, however, I highly recommend that you only use this as a LAST RESORT and only if you really know what you are doing.
Note that if your inkjet printer bottom is open - like many modern printers- you maybe able to see the print head and therefore gently place the damped tissue under the print head without having to disassemble any thing, just make sure that the tissue is damped enough with distilled water to solve the dry ink, but don't soak it too much to the degree it leaks water to the printer.
After finishing, do a -normal- clean cycle and you should be done.
