So I decided to be adventurous and try to put my GPU clock speeds to max. Went in to benchmark with Hitman Absolution and BSOD. After that I rebooted and reverted everything back to default. I didn't shorten my GPU lifespan right? I went into Payday 2 afterwards and everything seemed fine.

Solution

No you didnt.
You probably got a BSOD because of the low voltage, when you increase your clock speeds to max you also need to increase your voltage.
But if you reseted the settings back to normal everything will be fine.
