I got a new monitor and decided to clean my built computer from 2015. Since then I’ve stopped gaming and haven’t maintained the computer how I used too. I already remembered vacuuming was a bad idea but the buildup in the computer was so bad I did it without thinking twice. I also used some air spray from a can but there was very little left. Overall I didn’t do a ton of vacuuming and for the most part was along the edges of the computer but I did stupidly do it on some of the hardware itself. I didn’t touch any components too much and think it’s unlikely i moved or changed something physically.

After connecting the monitor I had a good 5 minutes before my cpu usage started going nuts when I tried to adjust resolution on a youtube video. Soon after I got a BSOD and after trying different things It would sometimes give me a couple minutes or BSOD as soon as I signed in. Safe mode worked for a bit but then BSOD as well.

I disconnected the new monitor and connected the old one and got the best results so far with everything being seemingly normal again before BSOD after 5 or 10 minutes confirming it wasn’t the new monitor or at least i don’t see how it could be. Completely lost and of course this all happens a few days before I have court on zoom which I planned to do on my desktop.

At the moment the computer seems like it can keep itself normal for about 5-10 minutes of use but after that time the cpu usage just skyrockets and the computer falls on its head and battles with itself to keep usage down until it blue screens

overall i don’t use the computer a ton and haven’t done much with it lately besides what’s stated above. no new software or anything else that could of caused any of this. vacuum was plastic and not metal and was predominately used around the case fan and the gpu which doesn’t seem to be having issues.
