BSOD and driver crashes while running games

Been having troubles with my first computer build. Here are some specs:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
MSI P67A mainboard
Intel Core i5 2500 @ 3.3 ghz
2x4gb Patriot G Sector 5 RAM
XFX Radeon HD 6770 1gb
Corsair 650w PSU
Western Digital 1tb

When I run games (most notable now in SWTOR) I can be running fine on high graphics settings they can run fine for any length of time (sometimes immediate crash, sometimes runs for hours on end) but then experience crashes to desktop or BSOD. The following is a recurring error log from Windows Event Logger:

Log Name: Application

Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

</Event>

In addition, I am able to successfully complete GPU benchmarks using FurMark. I have ran memtest86 and Windows Memory Diagnostic and both have shown no errors on RAM. Have reinstalled Windows 7 and still get same errors. Have tried re-seating hardware (RAM, GPU) and have seen no change. Have had this problem with three different cards (besides the current 6770 the same errors have happened with a Gigabyte Geforce GTX560ti 1gb and an EVGA Geforce GTX560 2gb). The crashes to desktop sometimes, but not always, have the infamous TDR popup (Window Kernel Driver blah blah blah has stopped working and recovered).

Getting desperate, hope I've provided plenty of info. Any insight into this issue would be greatly appreciated.
