BSOD! asmtxhci.sys on new Z270 AR, when using USB 3.1 [PICS]

Hello! I think I have an xHCI Driver problem...
Currently using a brand new Asus PRIME Z270 AR Mobo

Every time I try to update my driver for my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Audio Interface, I get this BSOD with nothing seemingly useful but "asmtxhci.sys" on screen. With the Scarlett driver installed, I get this BSOD every time I plug the Scarlett in. I've tried it on other systems fine, so I'm thinking it must be a driver I'm missing.

Trying to plug it into the only USB 3.1 [Type-A] slot.

"asmtxhci.sys" I know has to do with the USB controller, but I've tried uninstalling/reapplying it and still no luck. It's a brand new motherboard, but I may have missed something while installing. But I feel like I've tried almost everything and getting desperate. I even updated the BIOS.

PS: If it helps, here's my full Device Manager... the Scarlett 2i2 is not plugged in, so it's main driver (or what I suppose is) doesn't show up.

Got the newest one, and even tried a beta that Focusrite support gave me. No luck.

Win7 64-bit

Does not crash in the other USB 3.0, nor my case's USB 2.0. But also doesn't emit my PC sounds (like Youtube or playback) unless in 3.1.

The problem is, without the drivers, I get underwater/crackle sounds. Yet with drivers, I BSOD. The Scarlett WITH driver works fine with my laptop though, no matter what USB port it's in. So it can't be the Scarlett, right?

Umm if it's plugged into the back of the case, did you put standoffs in the case before you installed the mobo?

Yes, I used standoffs.

Did you install AI suite / AIcharger?

If you did uninstall them, Aicharger can cause probs with USB ports. And it's a known cause of crashes

Nope, didn't install any utilities.

No webcam, just Keyboard, Wireless Mouse, Wireless Headset (Logtitech G930), plugged in USB 3.0 in back.
I'll get those dump files ASAP

Now after about a minute or two after boot, I keep getting that ks.sys BSOD, and I'm getting terrified. IDK what to do, or how to revert it... It's been happening since I tried my hand at device verifier

Can you boot into safe mode / safe mode / networking?

Boot from the dvd if you've got it, do a repair

I can boot into safe mode. But don't know what to do after that?
Don't have a DVD drive.

I seem to be having issues. I swear I've enabled dump files to generate in %SystemRoot%\Minidump, but none are to be found. I'm kind of a newbie at this though, admittedly. Without Safe Mode/Networking, the ks.sys BSODs are more and more frequent.

Is there no way to just revert the mess I made with Driver Verifier?

If ccleaner is installed go to tools/startup and uninstall. Bottom right

Disable driver verifier, you mean? How would I go about that exactly? Just want to make sure I don't try anything stupid again...

Idk what I did, but after messing with the verifier options a few times, and then disabling it one last time, I was able to boot successfully. No BSOD for either ks.sys , or asmtxhic.sys when I plugged the Scarlett into the USB 3.1.

Didn't get the chance to do extensive testing, had to go to work. When I get back home I'll try and get my desired settings a bit and post the results.

Cool. May have been because verifier was enabled / running
