Hello.
I wanted to clean install Windows 10 because I had BSODs before.
So I used secure Erase in my BIOS Menu but I simply cannot install Windows 10.
It always stucks in any % on "getting files ready for Installation".
With stuck I mean freeze, cannot move mouse at all.
Often I get the BSOD Error "Machine Check Exception".

What I have tried since then:
Updated BIOS to newest Version
Used Memtest for my Ram
Borrowed friends Ram
Took out my GPU
Took out every USB Device except Mouse and Keyboard
Took out second Monitor too
Re-installed CPU and CPU Cooler
Reconnected the SATA Cables
Changed always some Options in the Bios
Used USB 3 and USB 2
Used multiple USB Sticks
Disconnected all Drives except the SSD
Used DISKPART > list disk > select disk <number> > clean > convert gpt

Pc Specs:
Intel i7 6700k Not overclocked
EVGA GTX 1080 Classified gaming
Samsung evo 850 500 GB
2 HDDs
Be Quiet! Power Zone 650W

I literally dont know what to do anymore.
I think something with my CPU is wrong.
What I noticed too is that the "Copying Windows files" is instant from 0% to 100% but maybe ist normal dunno

well it sure is a possibillity. the fact you cant do a clean install definitely makes the MB look guilty.

and a short is also out of the question since the bsod does not happen in safe mode.

i blew up image to read screen just to find I couldn't understand what it said anyway :)

what Code was it? not that it matters, i think mobo just randomly picks codes.

I hope once you get new board the install runs perfect and we can forget this ever happened.

The text is in german :)
I dont remember what code it was but it was for sure one of the Bsod Codes like system_service exception or similar.
Thank you all for the Support. Without you guys I wouldnt know what is wrong with my pc at all

Okay, so my new Mainboard arrived and I installed everything together only to find out that I still get freezes and crashes... Fml.
Seems that the CPU is faulty but I want your opinions first.
What I dont understand is why they took my old Mainboard and just sent me a new one without testing it or is the old Mainboard AND the cpu faulty?

I had hoped this was fixed. Did you try a fresh install on new motherboard or was that where the freezing etc happened? Any BSOD?

Does it play up in safe mode?

I think what they do with rma is send out a replacement without testing the old board, its probably what they do with all of them.

I don't think its the CPU as generally PC wouldn't start and unless the errors are WHEA or Machine Check exceptions, the Intel tests seem to show CPU is fine,
CPU Frequency Test Passed with Warning!!!
The processor frequency could be affected by power management features. In order to ensure the processor frequency is not affected by a power management setting, enter BIOS, load defaults, and disable any 'Over-Clocking' or power management features that may affect processor frequency. Also, set any software applications which control power management features to default.

is closest to a warning appearing on the report. And with a new motherboard now, that would be fixed now.

I used my SSD which had Windows on it and it still freezed so I tried to clean install but I got one BSOD: System service exception. Cant use safe mode because I dont have windows installed anymore. Im using the new Mainboard so I know for sure its not my Mainboard. My SSD works on other pcs without freezing so its not my SSD. Using the pc without my graphics card makes no difference so the only logical reason is to believe that the CPU is faulty.

I guess you are right, we running out of choices. I don't like telling people to rma things without being certain.

If you recently added hardware to the system, try removing or replacing it. Or check with the manufacturer to see if any patches are available.
MS Link

that might be difficult - I don't suggest you try.. that is just in description of last error you had. It can be drivers or hardware so it doesn't tell us a lot and hard to fix without windows. its most common reasons don't seem to apply to a fresh install.

the more i look at this, the less certain i become... i know, not helping.

When you tried to install onto other drives you got one blaming fbwf.sys - which is the File Based write filter -
Writing to storage media may be undesirable or impossible in embedded devices. FBWF redirects all writes targeted for protected volumes to a RAM cache called an overlay. Used in this context, an overlay is similar to a transparency overlay on an overhead projector. Any change made to the overlay affects the picture as seen in the aggregate, but if the overlay is removed, the underlying picture remains unchanged..

Never heard of it. I think it makes a ramdisk, might be part of the install process as the installer runs in ram. You also got two irq errors which are normally drivers but I have seen them to be ram before... but you tested your ram and a friends. CPU also effects Data so it might be corrupting everything it touches.
