Specs:
CPU: AMD 1090T
MB: ASUS M4N75TD AM3 NVIDIA nForce 750a SLI ATX AMD Motherboard
GPU: GTX 460 768 MB SSC
OS: Win 7 64 Bit

I built it and everything has ran fine for the first week, yesterday I installed a USB sound card (it's a Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Amigo, downloaded the windows 7 64 bit drivers from the Turtlebeach.com website) restarted and everything was going fine. The USB sound card worked fine and everything was running perfectly. A few hours later the computer blue-screened and I got a USB bug error. I restarted and it started back up, something happened and it restarted again (it started up and was running then BSOD again I believe didn't see the error).

Anyways I figured it was something odd with the USB sound card so I powered the computer back up. I started windows in normal mode and as I see the windows screen with the loading bar and it BSOD again. This time it said:

Page_fault_in_nonpage_area

Stop error of 0x0000050

I restarted and it offered to repair the startup files. I said ok, but got the same error.

I turned off the computer unplugged the USB soundcard and then started it back up.

It just gave me a generic there was a problem BSOD with a stop error of 0x000007e.

I try to start up in safe mode, same thing.

So I think OK I'll simply reinstall Win 7 as I have my files backed up on my spare HDD. I put in the disc and press a key to start with it and it starts loading the installer up like it's going to work but BSOD again before the installer starts.

I've googled it a few times, but I can't seem to come up with anything definitive. I've tried booting in safe mode and tried not forcing drivers to be digitally signed, but even then BSOD.

Any ideas how I can fix this? Could it be that my hdd has died? It's a 2002 hdd, so I think it's possible, however I would think I would start getting input/output errors or something else instead.

I've tried using the last known good configuration as well. No luck. I've also seen Wdf01000.sys listed with the 0x0000050 stop error but that only popped randomly and not at the beginning.

i'm pretty sure it's something to do with the usb card I installed, but I can't get into the system to uninstall it.

Any help would be appreciated, is it my HDD? Any other ideas on ways to get it to start up? My computer POSTs fine and the ASUS mini os Express Gate comes up and works fine before it begins loading windows, so that makes me think it may not be the HDD after all.

As for when it is loading windows it shows the progress bar but not the windows logo. I had AVG antivirus and wasn't visiting any sites out of the ordinary so I don't think I would of come across a virus.

Thanks in advance.

I actually got this squared away late yesterday, it was the RAM, unfortunately most of those options wouldn't work for me as I couldn't get into windows or start up the windows boot disc.

Checked my hdd then tried memory as suggested by someone elsewhere and one of the sticks was bad. Meant to update this, I think you replied right around the time I fixed it.

Thanks for the help.
