Hi,

I have an Asus P6X58D Premium. It runs fine on Windows 7 so far after a recent format 10 days ago, but freezes with Windows 10, which I've installed on a different HDD. I've had BSOD too. It recently started to freeze just a couple of minutes after booting. It freezes sometimes even in the BIOS screen.

On Windows 7, however, it never does freeze.

My friend has a MoBo of the same generation, but a different model, which is Asus Rampage III, it also runs Windows 10, has been running Windows 10 for months, but without any problems.

Can someone please help me figure this out?

Solution
All you can do is remove any extra hardware and go into bios and make sure everything is set correctly; memory voltages and timings. Correct cpu voltages and clock rate. If the Bios willl display your various voltages check them. If the computer is not working in bios it will not work in Windows

But that's the thing... Asus doesn't support the motherboard anymore. There aren't any Windows 10 drivers available. Yet, my friend's PC runs without problems and mine doesn't.

[apply the most current bios and updates or reset the bios to defaults and reconfigure. The bios reset will force the bios to reasign hardware resources.

johnbl,

I thank you for trying to help me.

I did as u said. I had the latest BIOS from the manufacturer, but just in case, I downloaded it again from their website and falshed it. I made sure the BIOS worked, then removed the battery to reset CMOS, and I restored BIOS to default settings... unfortunately the same thing keeps happening. Like I said in the first post, it freezes even in BIOS.

Is there a solution?

Can I remove my HDD as well? Will the bios work with no HDD connected?

yep, BIOS should still work with the drives removed
