Hey everyone! So this is another part list I put together for another friend, this time the budget was a decent bit lower, the absolute max budget is $600 (A comfortable budget for him is $500-$550), and just like my other friend, he wanted 16 GB of ram, the capacity to overclock his CPU with no overheating, as well as 1 TB of storage, here's the part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/CMZDXv

Just wanted to see how good this build is overall.

Solution
Ah forgot about that.

Any B450 motherboard will work, however they need to have a BIOS update. Its not easy to know which have this update, although at this point they all SHOULD have it.

The MSI - MAX motherboards like the one below are designed for 3rd generation CPUs so they WILL NOT need a bios update.

Price is a little higher than normal for that board however.

PCPP will bark at you unless you shell out for a $150+ X570 motherboard however any MSI B450 max will work just as well for a 3200g

So is the 3200g suited for gaming? The reviews stated that it's mostly a productive/office type CPU. Also, will a stock cooler be able to cope with overclocking the 3200g?

Because the 3200g is better than the 1200
Hey! Sorry for this reply this late into the post, but now in PcPartPicker, it doesn't show any compatibility issues with the 3200g and with the MSI B450M motherboard, and it's specifically that MB, when I put the Gigabyte one back in it shows the compatibility issue, do you think they finally figured that some motherboards won't have to be updated?
