Solution
Looks good the only thing I suggest is you drop an ssd in there install windows to it and use the bigger hdd for storage. If you can't afford both right now I'd just get a 120gb ssd and then later on drop in an Hdd because transferring windows can be a pain. Oh yes and 2x4 gb memory is the best way to go for gaming.

overclock the shit out of the pentium and your good
then 1 year later, upgrade the broadwell i5
on amd, you have no upgrade path

Hey there, Cothikevin. This is a very good build in terms of how its balanced for price/performance. You'll get R9 280X type of performance with just a little bit of overclocking. If I had any criticism, it would be for you to rather buy 2x4 GB RAM sticks so you can the harness dual channel ability of the chipset. Also, I would highly recommend you consider a SSD than a HDD. Especially due to the fact that it will be a gaming PC. Many times over I've heard (and experienced) that the single biggest difference to a machine is made when the HDD is upgraded to an SSD. Day vs. night.

Also, 007agentHP made a VERY valid point with regards to the "upgrade path". You might want to consider going intel for $14 more.

I've taken the liberty of editing 007agentHP's build to fit your price/performance requirement a bit more accurately?

yeah, amd will be releasing a "ZEN" architecture and i doubt they are going to stay on the aging AM3+ socket
