Greetings. Today I figured I would've liked a better CPU, majority for video editing because I hate waiting for previews to load in after effects, and the final render. I do plan on getting better gaming aswell. I currently run on a Intel Core i3-4170. My price budget is under $240, it's a bit harder for me to earn money. Looking for it being around high-end.
Thanks, Mark.

For video editing, get a Xeon E3-1231 V3. The hyper threading will help with editing, and it will also handle games well. They go for about $240 new, you may be able to find a deal for a used one on eBay or CL or something.

EDIT: the E3-1226 is good also. That chip has integrated graphics, while the one I mentioned does not.

Xeon E3-1231 V3 is at $260-$399. Also, I already run on a GTX 1050 ti, causing a bit of bottleneck with my i3 4170

Are you in the US? Newegg sells that processor for $250, I also found it on Amazon for $241.

The Xeon will outperform your i3. You could also go with an i5 as Blackbird suggested. Both are good options, but I believe that you will benefit more from having the extra threads since you do some editing.
