Tell me what you think and give me advice on what I can change and still fit into my budget.

CPU and MOBO combo - $330.99 - $50 = $280.99 (920: -$31 total)
AMD Phenom II X4 940 Deneb 3.0GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Quad-Core Black Edition Processor Model HDZ940XCGIBOX - $225.00
or
AMD Phenom II X4 920 2.8GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Quad-Core Processor Model HDX920XCGIBOX - $194.00
BIOSTAR TFORCE TA790GX 128M AM2+/AM2 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard - $105.99

GPU and PSU combo - $139.98 - $15 = $119.98
SAPPHIRE 100225L Radeon HD 3870 512MB 256-bit GDDR4 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card - $79.99
APEVIA WIN-500XSPX 500W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply - $44.99

Memory - G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-8500CL5D-2GBPK - $31.99
HDD - Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3250410AS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - $54.99
Case - COOLER MASTER Elite 330 RC-330-KKN1-GP Black SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - $39.99
DVD-R - LG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner Black SATA Model GH22NS30 - $23.99

Total - $551.93 + $15.99 = $567.92 ($537.92 if MIR is applied) [920: $546.92 ( $516.92 if MIR is applied)]

Im on a $500 - $570 budget. I don't want to go over my budget, but preferably I want to go lower.

I usually play combat arms, freestyle street basketball, and gunz with average 25 FPS on my crappy $150 computer. (I know :pfff: )

When I make the new computer I'm planning on playing games like GTA IV, COD4, and Fall out 3.

I'm wonder if there is a big difference between Phenom II 940 and 920.

If the difference is not that significant tell me what GPU I can get to improve my gameplay with the little leg room I get from switching to the 920.

As much as I love gaming, I don't want too much on gaming. (I'm a student)

I know its not fun to help a guy with a low budget compared to some one with $1000 budget, but PLEASE HELP!!!

Thank you

Hmm perhaps we could squeezein a HD4830 because for the most part
HD4830 > 8800GT > HD3870 so my suggestion:
581.93
7 ship
25 MIR
563.93

Wont the phenom II 720 and 940 make a big difference in speed?

Whats the difference from a biostar mobo and a gigabyte?

There is a Foxconn FX mobo, should I get that instead of the biostar or gigabyte GX mobo?

I heard a 1066 ram is recomended for a AMD mobo and 800 for intel mobo.

I would suggest getting the case locally as it can easily save you $20-$30 on shipping. With that said the above posts have great value to sum it up for you.

Total $550 - $70MIR

I changed the ram to move you up to 4GB and PSU to give you a bit more wattage at a lower price. The motherboard I selected is consider a lowe tier brand, but the customer reviews on it are good.
