buffer over run

I have a crw8824e and I used to burn at 8x,but now if I try to burn at 8x I get buffer over run. To burn anything I have to go down to 2x. I defrag my HD, reinstalled my CDR software,scan for virus,closed all programs, and nothing seems to work. Can someone help me PLEASE.

Is this from HDD to CD or CD to CD? How is your IDE configuration? What are the specs of your system?
