Build custom ps3

I have a great 700 dollar pc that I, as a young person, am very proud of. My brother ,however, doesn't quite have the same appreciation for graphics as I do, and chooses to play minecraft on it. With a controller. *shudder*. In order to get him off of it, would anyone think it would really be that hard to create a ps3 for him to play on so I can gain my pc back? I see parts on eBay all of the time for under a hundred bucks. Thoughts?

You'd be better off buying a used one from gamestop or craigslist.

A PS3 motherboard is useless without the bluray controller board, as they married together meaning you need the bluray board that came with the motherboard. Taking any drive won't work.

More than likely half those motherboards could be toasted or in rough shape.

By the time you buy all the parts, controller, etc, you could have gotten a working, used one for cheaper. I just sold a slim, fulling working PS3 on Kijiji for like $60 with no controller because that's all I could get for it.
