Is this build good or can I make it better? This is mainly going to be a desktop for doing homework, browsing and such. But there are 4 kids in the house ages 4 to 14 so there will be gaming on it. I would like to be able to play a decent range of games from minecraft to some newer games. I don't need to max out newer games just that they run and look decent.

What kind of performance can i expect from this rig? Or can i make it better? I need it to be under $1000.

(Note: I live close to a Microcenter any suggestion on another motherboard of less or equal value would be appreciated the sometimes have offers on CPU/MOBO combos)

Asus H97-PLUS - 99.99$

This Motherboard will allow you to run a SLI setup.
The Z97 boards supports the same CPU models as the H97 boards. The only difference is that Z97 supports Overclocking.
I think that build it's allright.
You can go cheaper on the motherboard by getting an H97. You don't need a Z97 board considering that you will get a non-k Haswell CPU and you won't be able to Overclock it , being factory locked by Intel.

Would this MOBO be better in terms of upgrade value. Say i want a better CPU or add another GPU?
