even with the Service pack Flight sim runs horribly. I had 2 9600 GTs before and I got around 9-15 FPS.

I didn't try it on the 9800 GX2 but I doubt I'll see a difference!

I'm gonna revive this thread again... sorry.

How are you getting 9-15 FPS with a Q6600? I get about that, if not a little more with most details at least on medium or higher with my 3700+ and an ATI X800XL

He is probably using FSX accelerator. Which is DX10 enabled with the appropriate DX10 card. This is very hardware intensive especially on the CPU.
What I have noticed however is with a stock Q6600 the frame rates are rather low. But max that sucker out with crazy mobo, memory bandwidth and overclock er to 3.6+ and your frame rates will increase substantially.

FSX was just a horribly optimized game and thats all I'm leaving it to. What you have is an amazingly balanced system and you should be happy with it.

As for running Flight Sim.....I dont see it happenening, even THG had around 23 FPS:p lol

I'm guessing you run everything maxed? FSX is actually written well, what people don't realize is the calculations increase exponentially (not incrementally) when you move the dynamic scenery, 3D cloud, air traffic, and vehicle traffic sliders. You simply cannot set those to 100%.

Hi there,
I am looking to find solution to my poor frame rate I am getting using FSX and TH2GO Digital that I just baught.
My PC Spec are as follows:
Intel Core Duo E8400 @3.00G OC to 3.6GHz
Asus MB P5K-E.
4G Ram DDR2 @800Mhz
Nvidia GF 8800GTS OC 512MB PCI Express.
Vista home premium.
When I play the game (FSX) with 1 screen using 1280x1024 I get Frame rate 30 +.
As soon I switch to 3840 x 1024 the frame rate drop to 1 or 0.8/sec.
What am i doing wrong.
I am new to this , so please advise how can I rectify, as I cannot play the game.
Same for FS9.
Thanks for any help

Hi hughyhunter
Thanks, however, is there anything I can do to get a playable frame rate, or I just have to return the TH2Go.
I cannot use it at the moment period

I'm not to familiar with the TH2Go. Maybe someone else can give some input.

However I do think that if you wait a few months and get a high end CPU you will see some amazing frame rate increases with it. I cant believe how much CPU bound this game is.
