Hey all, I am looking to build a new computer in the $600-800 range that will run games like upcoming Skyrim and MMOs like Age of conan smoothly. (notice I say "like" age of conan, not looking to play that game again). I already have mouse, monitor, keyboard, speakers and this case: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=tsunami+dream+thermaltake&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=6177592866765336843&sa=X&ei=wmV_TeyDCcjk0gHorqD_CA&ved=0CCMQ8wIwAQ#

I have been doing some research and these are the current components I am looking to get, just wanted the advice of Tom's community:

All help is appreciated!

Not bad! Only I've heard some bad stuff about the "SE" versions of the 460. If you can get a regular version, then that's a pretty good build. A 460 can run 1080p games at pretty good settings with good FPS. Obviously that RAM isn't going to be overclockable but it'll do the trick and you can always try upgrading later if you want.

What res is your monitor and what setting do you want to play skyrim at. because that game from what i see it going to make my gtx 580 look like a 3870 at high settings lol! my res is 1920x1080p

I was about to type the same thing wolfram was saying...and then I saw he was already on it. Take a lower wattage (650 watt or 750 if you want) and get a more solid PSU. If you go for the 650 you can even save a little cash and it won't have any problem running your system.

Gotcha, ya I'm gonna go with the 1G.

I have heard completely opposite things regarding my case:

One person I know whose computer knowledge I hold high says that that is not a good case and it doesn't cool well...it is also 5 years old.

Every other person I've talked to says case does not matter. Would love to get some opinions on that. I'm hoping the latter is true!
