Hi, I’m planning on building a Gamer PC of medium-high performance, I’ve already researched some components and would like to know your opinion

  • CPU: Intel Cor i7 12700k (12gen) $379.88
  • CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U9S $76.99
  • Motherboard: Asus TUF Z690-Plus D4 (LGA1700) $275.99
  • RAM: Kingston Fury 16GB DDR4(8x2) $34.99
  • GPU: MSI NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3060 Ventus 2X 12gb GDDR6 $379.99
  • Internal Storage: SSD Samsung 980 pro Series 1TB M2 NVMe $90.48
  • Font: XPG Core Reactor 750W, 80 Plus Gold Modular $119.99
  • Tower: Corsair Airflow 5000d $174.99
  • Windows 10 home $119.99
Two slight addendums

1 I hate RGB lights so I avoid it at all costs
2 I'm situated in Brazil so some new 2023 launches don't quite exist in Brazil yet or are super overpriced.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

So far the build looks fine, though to be blunt...you didn't mention what they cost, what your budget for your build is or will be, with the latter info we could add context to your build and build up off of them with suggestions.

Model for the ram kit you're going to pair with the motherboard?

My budget is somewhere around U$1500-1700

Using the PC Builder thing from Newegg the total comes up to $1,653.19

Have you rejected 13th generation parts for budgetary reasons? Or some other reason?

Noctua U9S is a good cooler in its class, but I'd get a U12S or U14S if budget allows and if your case is wide enough to accommodate them.
I thought of 13 gen but it goes over my budget a bit.

My budget does allow for a I9 12900kf though or one of the mentioned above cpu coolers

Not 100 sure if case is big enough but I believe it is.

Room for improvement.

DDR5, 2TB SSD, bigger GPU.

You can also fit an RTX4070 in here pretty comfortably in place of the 6800XT.

That case will take coolers up to 170mm in height.

Which means virtually any air cooler will fit.

U9S would be Ok on a 12700K, but you might get slightly better performance with an upgraded (taller) cooler. The U9s is only 125mm tall, so you've got almost 2 inches of additional clearance.

Noctua D12 is another to consider. Dual tower, whereas the U12 and U14 are single tower.

Here's some quotes I have gathered about the U9S on a 12700K.

"after running Heavyload, the max temp reached 88 celsius and sat around 87 for half an hour. I feel quite happy about that."

"U9S temps typically 4 degrees warmer than U12S when under a 200 watt load per Frosty Tech."

Not a big deal. Up to you to decide if you want to step up a notch on the cooler. Don't know how anxious you get about temps.

Honestly as long as it doesn't interfere with the overall working on the unit, i don't worry that much about temperature.

If you are interested in AMD builds,

This build has :
- Significantly faster CPU
- 32GB DDR5 RAM by SK Hynix
- Much faster GPU
- Better cooler + PSU
- 2TB and better SSD

You can pick a more expensive motherboard if you don't like what I picked.
