And trying to keep it as 'just the boot drive' loses a lot of value in having the SSD in the first place.
Lots of things you DO want on the SSD.

We're not saying this just to make you spend money...just from years of experience in seeing far, far too many people in here trying to manage space on those 120GB SSD's.

- Power Supply is better quality and cheaper.
- The RX 580 is on average 5-10% stronger, also cheaper and a good pairing for Ryzen.
- I'd personally opt for a cheaper case maybe a Corsair 100R and use the saved cash to grab 16GB RAM which would help with some modern games. But it's your taste/choice so i left it be.
- Used the saved cash from swapping other parts to put in a 250GB Samsung EVO, it's faster and 120GB is quite small and would fill up very easily with Windows and 1-2 larger games.

Nice build mate, your build will only use 300 wattage. That EVGA 650 Wattage power supply is more than enough for your build. You can put another GTX 1060 in there if you like in the future.

No. The Power Supply has enough wattage but is not a great budget Power Supply when compared to many others like the SeaSonic S12-II or Corsair CXM. Especially not at that much higher price.

Additionally, you cannot SLI a GTX 1060.

if u have bought the parts, then chuck it. its a decent build. but if not, here r a few otimisations along with a PSU. and do get a case fan 😉

Yeah i may have worded a little poorly... i know they are not bad Power Supplies, just pointing out you can get some of equal or better quality for the same price or cheaper. 😉

@Lucky_SLS' build looks really good, i would go for that if you don't mind lowering SSD space.

In the middle of saving for a wedding too so money is tight and im be buying each component every few weeks.

Just going to use the ssd as a boot drive so not too bothered about the size of it. And think i will change out the 1060 for the rx580 that was posted

Thanks again. Going to try and squeeze another wee bit of dosh to get at least a 250gb ssd....

I there is a split between the MSI tomahawk mobo and the gigabyte gaming mobo. Is there much difference between the two or is it just personal preference?
