Building my first gaming rig

I am curious as to what you guys think. This is the first time I will have built a designated gaming PC for myself and I just wanted to make sure the rig is good, meaning I can play pretty much whatever I want on high-ultra settings. Will this suffice? I'm also looking for input, should I upgrade anything, change brands, downgrade anything, etc. No optical drive yet, not sure I really want one, but maybe I'll add later. Price right now before shipping is around 950, I'd like to stick close to that, if not go lower.

You need an SSD, there's nothing like it.

I actually ordered one earlier today, 240GB for $59

Honestly it speeds up your PC so much, your overall PC experience just improves dramatically.

What do you think about just running a 500gb SSD and taking away the HDD altogether.

I am using a Samsung Evo Pro 250 GB SSD as my sole day to day hard drive, i only have 1-2 games installed at one time and save pictures on external drive.

So can you live with SSD alone, yes if you don't save trash and have only a few games installed at one time.

You can clean and use your old HDD from old PC as a storage unit or i guess just use the SSD for now and maybe in a year or so get a new HDD for storage.

In my personal use SSD alone works.

Everything looks good, but i would defiantly recommend an ssd, even a 128gb ssd would be fine to start with. You just need something big enough to have your operating system on, and still buy a 1-2tb hard drive for everything else you plan on using with the PC. Later on you can upgrade your SSD and get a 250-500 and then place your favorite games and operating system on it. best part about a PC is you can always upgrade, so start out with what you can afford and then later on UPGRADE!
