built a new comp cant get video

I just built a new computer with a thunderbird 1100 cpu and i can't seem to get any video and i get no beeps either. I read that this could mean the board and cpu are'nt working at all. I've already tried a new board and I still get the same problem. The video card i'm using works fine in my other computer so i know that's not the problem. Is there anything else that could be causing this or is it possible i've gotten a bad processor?

Your processor is not responding if you get no beep codes, but it might not be faulty. Check the power supply on another system. Check all the jumper settings as well, every last one. Sometimes the "clear cmos" AKA "clear bios" jumper is set that way-I've seen that before as well. Make sure if you are using metal standoffs that there is not any in the wrong location shorting out part of the motherboard. If none of these are your problem, check the CPU in another machine. If you have no other machine to test it in, get friendly with a local dealer and have him check it.

Thanks for the response- the processer did turn out to be bad. I took it back and got to exchange it, now my new comp is up and running great
