Built a new pc from parts,the computer can't see the hard drive

I built a new PC .When I try to install Windows 7 from a usb It can't find it.What could be the problem?Thank you

What kind of hard drive? what motherboard? You may need to install the drivers before Win7 installer will see the drive.

Did u use a media creation tool on the USB?

The hard drive is Hitachi-LG CD-R2/DVD-ROM Drive and the motherboard is a MSI H81M-E33

That is the DVD drive, not a hard drive.

When you have the USB plugged in can you go into the BIOS and set the boot order so that it is first? When you restart the PC with the USB plugged in hit F11 to jump into the boot menu on the BIOS instead of hitting DEL to go into the BIOS settings. Also note you may want to make sure you have the USB drive in a USB 2.0 port on the back of the PC(not the blue ones on the back or front panel).
