Burner not as fast as before !

Hi,
I have a Panasonic Matshita 8X4X32 CD-RW CW-7586 (I know....it's not the best!) The problem is, It used to be pritty quick burning images to the HD (using CloneCD). Now a few months later, burning from the same sorce, it's WAY slow. Its been 17 min now burning MOH, (speed goes from 1 kByte to 10 kByte). A month ago it would be done by now.....whats going on ?

safedisk 2.5x is going on the first part of the disk has many intentional read errors that slow the reading to a crawl until it passes them
